I really enjoyed this Max Barry Novel. It's a bit darker than his earlier novels, but still has humor in places.
The way Barry writes characters feelings, fears, and observations is masterful! The sense of terror and trauma characters feel in situations is very real.
If you are not comfortable reading the first chapter, about the real estate agent, you will NOT be comfortable the rest of the book- though it is a very good book.

Enjoyable book.  A man is jumping from parallel world to parallel world and stalking then killing a young woman he is obsessed with.  A journalist named Felicity gets drawn into the mystery and dragged to another world unknowingly; she becomes determined to save Madison May from the killer and stop him once and for all.  I liked Felicity and Madison May.    I would have liked more world building around the group that is enabling the world jumping.  I believe it is intentional on the author's part, but it feels very handy-wavy "don't worry about it."

This incredibly fast-paced book was a quick two-day read for me, and it was enjoyably gripping, if not a phenomenal piece of writing.

Everything about this book was executed well - the pacing, the writing style, the characters, the concept. It just wasn't groundbreaking to me. Once the multiverse concept was established, there weren't many other clever worldbuilding elements. The characters are distinct and interesting, but they also aren't surprising or nuanced. I enjoyed the POV shifts and the subtle way that some information vwad repeated in different ways by different characters.

This may not be a life-changing sci-fi thriller, but it's more than adequate as a quick, engaging read.
