An end of the world story with the last couple, as far as they know, in the world. A self-righteous woman and a desperate, ratty man. The point is you’re not supposed to like either of them, but in actuality, the man’s pretty much a cad for all the woman’s issues. So the trick ending is a small comeuppance, and justly deserved. It’s ok.
