„Now you see her, now you don’t“ I read this because Melis said she enjoyed it once… I didn’t

Bored in Geography class one day, Jessica Jenkins is surprised to find that as her mind goes blank, parts of her body start becoming invisible. With the help of her best friend Izzy, she learns to harness the power and control when she is and is not visible. They start out by wanting to have fun with this, playing harmless pranks, then move on to figure out how to help people with it. When they start tracing the origins of the power, however, they find out not only that a few other classmates have similar powers, but that they may be in danger from an evil man who wants to use it for himself. A fun, quick read with a great mix of humor and adventure. Recommended for anyone who wishes they had a superpower, grades 4-8.

I enjoyed this and the story was really cute. However I feel it had a lot more potential to grow and want to hear more from it! I still have so many questions ahhhh

A book featuring strong female characters and an adventurous group of friends. The thing I absolutely loved about this book was the absence of romance; there was none at all. The plot was very unique and the story was very captivating. A perfect read for middle-graders and even adults who love crystals and chemistry.

Although the book was entertaining, it lacked detail on the main aspect of the book i.e. chemistry. There was not much explanation as to how the crystals work, but this can be justified by the fact that it's a children's book and they are perhaps not interested in this particular aspect of the story. There are some other plot-holes in the book as well but again, it's aimed at a younger audience than myself so it's not a huge issue.
