Thoroughly researched and well intentioned but the author occasionally chooses terms and descriptions that are derogatory and sexist. I cringed with enough frequency to rate lower than three stars. There is a lot of storytelling about the key male players; so much so the reader is taken away from the female protagonist too often and for too long. Still, a fascinating piece of history that I enjoyed learning about.
