Juli loves Bryce. Bryce can't stand Juli. Then one day, they flip. Bryce realizes there is more to Juli than he initially thought, and Juli realizes that maybe Bryce isn't worth the effort. Wendelin Van Draanen tells this incredibly simple yet adorable story through both characters' points of view. Van Draanen alternates chapters, giving us first Bryce's version of events, followed by Juli's. This creates a very interesting perspective because it shows the readers that there is much more to a story than what can be seen from a single perspective, which is exactly Van Draanen's point. The whole is worth more than the sum of its parts. Just like Bryce and Juli, we have to learn to look beyond the surface to truly know and understand someone.

Audio version: female version sounds just like Juli Baker and about the male version, sometimes, like Bryce Loski.
Bonus part of the author: books are about inspiring people, take courage to face the real world... The author has been receiving countless letters from readers all these years so you can imagine he impact.
I really liked the movie, but it is also true that the movie helped me follow the book because I recall the sequence of the scenes.
Funny words: Diddly Squat; The Sycamore Tree".
"The whole being greater than the sum of its parts" With people, sometimes, "the whole is less than the sum of the parts"
How life can change in small moments for ever, like having a baby with oxygen deprivation at birth because of being wrapped with the umbilical cord, how it could be avoided
Filmed in Michigan, open ending in the book, people asking about their kiss... Did they kissed in the movie?
"May you find the love that is iridescent"

In the book, "Flipped" by Wendelin Draanen, both main characters, Bryce and Juli switch perspectives. This classic romance book begins with Bryce running from Juli, from the second grade to the present time in eighth grade where it's the opposite. Now, Juli drifts apart from Bryce. My favorite character was Bryce because of his strong character development. Bryce drastically changed the way he acted when he realized it was wrong. I think it takes courage to do that after remaining the same for so long. Although I think the ending was great, I wish it could've been different or had a sequel because it left me to guess what happened next. Although "Flipped" is a short read, it was definitely one of the best romance books I've read.

I WANNA GIVE THIS BOOK 2 STARS BECAUSE MY MAJOR COMPLAINT IS WHY DOES IT END JUST LIKE THAT. THE ENDING WAS WAY TOO ABRUPT!!

It di NOT give the satisfaction. I watched the movie, and it ended in an almost similar way. I mean, I knew how it would end, but somehow, the book's ending felt so flat. Like really? That's it!!??

Still, rating it 5 stars cause I loved the story. It's so endearing. It's just really such a lovely story of young love. A kind of childhood love I wish I had.

This book was the cutest and the most adorable story ever! I love the way Bryce realizes how amazing Julie really is and how Julie realizes she doesn't really know who Bryce is.

I read this a while ago and I hope to reread it and give a much better review. I did watch the movie though, and when Julie was talking about the sycamore tree I was just sobbing because it was really beautiful, the way she described it. (fangirl habits)

The basket boy scene in the movie and the book was so adorable!
