Angel’s End by Cindy Holby
Grade: C-

“You’re a very beautiful woman Leah. And I’m a very weak man.”

Cade Gentry has not lead a very Christian life and luck has never been on his side but all that changes one night in the middle of Colorado. Cade is on the run from his past when he stumbles on to his future in Pastor Timothy Key. The pastor is on his way to Angel’s End, Colorado to take a new job but is shot and killed by the men looking for Cade. Cade resumes the pastor’s identity and makes his way to Angle’s End where he meets Leah Findley the late sheriff's widow. Cade and Leah have an instant attraction and try to fight their feelings for one another as they both try to heal the other’s wounds.

I tried very, very hard to like this book and it just never happened. I struggled a lot to finish this book, to like the characters and care about the plot. I think my major issue with the book was with Cade and Leah. I really disliked them both, Cade especially. Cade was very hard to like and he just lied a lot over and over again to not only Leah but to himself. I didn’t want them to be together and I think Leah would have been better off than dealing with Cade. especially since Leah has a child.

I would classify this novel as a historical christian romance and it was not for me. I think the next book in this series might be okay but after how much I struggled with this one I don’t think I’m going to continue with this series. The idea of the book was good but the characters made it bad and a very difficult read.
