I loved this - the characters, the setting, the story.
The characters were all so lovable and relatable - it was a lovely escapest read - just what we all need right now!

wow super good! it caught my eye due to the graphics and typography. at first i didn’t think i’d like it as much as i did, but by the halfway mark i was absolutely hooked. the conflict came at the right time, and the ending was both fluffy, fulfilling and still added to the character development! super fun book, maybe my favourite book of the year so far :)

The Summer Job bases on the premise of Birdy, an English girl that without any knowledge of wine decides to pose as her super famous sommelier friend Heather, in a fancy hotel in Scotland.

And what I can say about this book... I really loved it. What I initially thought was going to be my monthly contemporary romance turned out to be much more. Birdy was really an amazing character. She's hardworking and funny, even though she feels constantly insecure about when will she get the call of what to do in life. She also talks a lot about her shitty parents, and I loved how her friendship with Heather help both of them survive their difficult childhood.

The author also has a lot of experience with the serving industry, and I love how she says this book is a love letter to hospitality in Scotland. You can notice all the details she adds whenever she's talking about the hotel. And it was super great!

So overall if you are looking for a summer read with a little bit of romance, and genuine imperfect characters this is your book.
