bi_bibliophile's review against another edition
Things that made me decided to dnf this book.
• The group of popular girls that are obviously a rip off of the Mean Girls.
• The characters were vain and unlikeable (except Tony, he was okay)
• The plot was drawn out, I read nearly 100 pages and nothing really happened. What did happen was I suppose understandable but still quite dull.
• Overly detailed descriptions of things.
• The MC is "not like other girls" which i suppose is true given she was a vampire but now that she's human again she seems like any other 16 year old in 2011 really.
• The MC having a relationship with the vampire that made (obviously many year between them) that started through stalking when she was 15.
• Sexualisation of teenagers.
• Fatphobic language.
• I also don't believe that the MC was ever British in her 592 years of existence.
I don't know why I thought I'd still enjoy this 10 years after originally reading it but I can say that 15 year old me had some bad taste in books.
