I don’t know if it’s maybe just “American classics” or if it’s maybe me, but I didn’t understand a half of what this was about. In fact, the many pages of the drunken or drug addled ramblings that Lee goes on through the book, I just started to skip over.
There was a lot of talk of drink and drugs and boys that Lee found to be attractive and it was all just a bit surreal, if truth be told.
Burroughs does make some interesting points about loneliness and the desire for human contact, but I’m not entirely sure what else he was saying to be completely honest. Perhaps that’s for the best.
