I beg you not to go into this book expecting a romance. Please read this book expecting a really raw and yet somehow lighthearted look at grief.
This book definitely won’t be a 5 star for everyone, but I related so much to the way Robin related to and coped with her grief. I can’t give a book that made me ugly cry like this anything less.

I really liked the idea of this book and think that for those who have experienced the loss of a spouse, this might be a great read. I do get the similarities of P.S. I Love You, with Gabe signing Robin up for Babbl and having an email sent a year after his death. So overall I felt like there is a great understanding of grief in this one but ultimately I REALLY disliked Robin. Her lack of self awareness with the relationships around her really irked me. I made it 73% into this book and just can't care enough to know where Robin's journey is headed.

this needed less telling and more showing. i don’t leave this book feeling like i understand the deep nature of any of these relationships, but i do think the author accurately portrayed grief. solid palate cleanser after “a court of mist and fury” !

Beginning and end I enjoyed but the middle seemed a lot of the same thing happening and I felt indifferent. Reminded me vaguely of PS I Love You and I'm glad Robin was able to have the growth she needed in the end.

I was really enjoying this novel, I loved the concept as it’s similar vibes to P.S I Love You. But, as the story progressed, I didn’t feel like the story was going anywhere, every chapter consisted of the same thing, the character going on dates, not enjoying it or not finding her groove, it not working out etc, and then it would repeat again the next chapter. I could tell right from the beginning who she was going to end up with, and for almost being half way through, her connection with him hadn’t changed since the beginning of the novel. Since the beginning we’ve probably had four chapters of the characters interacting which feels odd, and within these chapters it still feels like they are friends/people that “hardly” know each other. There hasn’t been any romantic interest.

I was particularly touched by the references to Robin’s late husband being a gamer, and having that not be portrayed negatively.
