I was really enjoying this novel, I loved the concept as it’s similar vibes to P.S I Love You. But, as the story progressed, I didn’t feel like the story was going anywhere, every chapter consisted of the same thing, the character going on dates, not enjoying it or not finding her groove, it not working out etc, and then it would repeat again the next chapter. I could tell right from the beginning who she was going to end up with, and for almost being half way through, her connection with him hadn’t changed since the beginning of the novel. Since the beginning we’ve probably had four chapters of the characters interacting which feels odd, and within these chapters it still feels like they are friends/people that “hardly” know each other. There hasn’t been any romantic interest.

In a small town near Minnesota’s Twin Cities, Robin is a very young widow at thirty-three.  A year after her husband’s death by cancer, she receives a postdated email from him stating that he’s made her a dating app profile.  Struggling with grief but willing to try, Robin dives into the murky waters of online dating with guidance from her late husband’s best friend.  Between bad dates and a possible match, Robin watches her favorite horror movies at home alone.  But when she starts to say yes to life’s invitations again, she makes some beautiful discoveries.  Anyone in need of a fresh start is sure to be inspired by this lovely book.

I was particularly touched by the references to Robin’s late husband being a gamer, and having that not be portrayed negatively.
