We find out where and what Nao's been doing in the three years between the fire and when Nao sees Tsubaki again. Takigawa has been with her the whole time, in a benefactor type role. (Or does he want more? Hard to say. And hard to say how old he is.) She continues to be haunted by the events of the past, but is resilient because she's determined to bring the downfall of Kogetsuan, to clear her mother's name and to own her own wagashi place.

In the present day, they finally cross paths as Tsubaki learns Nao is the owner of her own shop, Hanagasumi (distant flowers that appear hazy, as if through a mist). Nao is so coldly polite as she interacts with him, like he's a customer that I'm a little concerned. She won't go too far, will she? "Is this feeling love or hatred?" What could these two be feeling as they encounter each by again?

Also...
  1. The Proprietress continues her conniving ways as usual.
  2. Shiori. I feel bad for the poor girl because she's clearly pining over Tsubaki, however he doesn't appear to care for her that way. The fact that she said she'll never think poorly of him, "no matter what" is a tad naive. It seems she's a sweet character, but could there be something to her motives? But...she's definitely lying at the end. Right?
  3. Nao's mom and Itsuki Takatsuki've known each other since middle school. So they're not having a fling, like I had thought at first. No wonder Kyoko feels like she could never win his affections in the first place.
  4. Tsukabi. It was revealed in the previous volume that he wasn't making wagashi anymore, instead focusing on running the store as his grandpa was still in the hospital. But it turns out he's been having vision issues for some time.
  5. Let's make wagashi together. Oh boy.

NOOOOOOOO WHAT THE F IS THAT CLIFFHANGER? I'm literally losing my cool over this series!! Just wtf I can't keep calm!! Kogetsuan indeed is cursed. It turns all its inhabitants into rotten souls. Also the Wakura trip is making me scream lol!! This is all so intense! It's half past 3 AM and here I am still wide awake because this volume is literally tearing my body apart releasing my ever-energetic soul to endure. Lol!

Nao coming out swinging at that evil woman. Tsubaki deserves a better mother. I can't imagine what she'd do when she find out about his vision problems. She's nuts, I have no idea why she wants the shop so much. Is it all about money?

Shiori is still delusional, and is up to something, I don't trust her for one second. But Nao and Tsubaki alone in the hot springs, I foresee some potential steamy moments with them in the next volume.
I think something is going to come to light soon. I hope anyways. This is a pretty short manga series, and this is the halfway point. It's a little melodramatic, but I am invested in what's going on.
