A slow burn, passionate and fun retelling. Consumed me in the best way.

Well well well wasn't this freaking delicious.
I'm a sucker for Hades and Persephone retellings, and this even though was different from the most retellings about Hades I've read, it was such a breath of fresh air. It could've been better in terms of writing and world building but the romance part. Hot damn. I couldn't stop swiping on my kindle. This is not a perfect series but it's so addictive. I'm so ready to get through the other books in this series.

I honestly didn’t think I was going to like this one. Just that it wasn’t going to be for me. I went back and forth and finally purchased it and I couldn’t put it down.

Is it a literary masterpiece? No, but it is hot, fun, and a quick and easy read.

I found Persephone infuriating at times and I must have rolled my eyes at her as much as she did at, well, everything. But I loved her dynamic with the souls and Hecate so I forgive her.

I enjoyed the plot, but the writing wasn’t great, and the world building was also ordinary in my opinion. I also found it hard to connect with the characters and didn’t really feel invested in Hades’ and Persephone’s relationship. I rarely dnf a book, but I expected more as I usually love Greek myth retellings.
