10/3/2017... hardcover release day. My Robert Langdon #5 left the Amazon facility in Kent at 3am today after being pre-ordered 5 months ago, and after waiting for 4 years after reading his last book (Inferno). Dan Brown is possibly the only author who I will read in hardcover. Over 18 hours of reading coming up (105 chapters, 480 pages); this book is a welcome reprieve from current world events. I read the Prologue online (which mentions Kabbalah) and anxiously await 7pm when I will finally get home to check my mail tonight.
10/17.... Finished and happy. Would give it 4.5 stars if possible. Lots of food for thought.

Although the premise was promising, the ending was predictable.
The central theme was about what as a species we should be worried about, but somehow just didn't connect with me.
Not the best of Brown in my opinion.

Informative, suspenseful and insightful. A fresh take on the science vs religion debate.

Exceedingly disappointing!
It is like Brown decided to phone it in. The plotting is lazy and predictable; the character development is non-existant and every trope from every Langdon book is rehashed ad nauseum.
It is time for this series to end.

Not my favorite Dan Brown book, but not his worst either. I didn't love the "twist" until the last few pages. AND, I'm proud to say, I figured out the "twist" for the first time ever!
