A cute storyline that was predictable in a comforting way. The big plot twist felt really obvious to me. But that might just be because I’ve read too many books like this.

Small town romances are always made better by lovely characters, and this one had quite a few of them. I just wanted to give everybody a hug because they were all so dang sweet. Though it didn’t have any real surprises, for me, I still really enjoyed this read. It was perfectly wholesome.

"The wind whipped through my hair as I sped along the highway. Just me and my cherry-red Cadillac. On a runaway road."

- Small town
- Single dad
- Divorced MCs
- Insta-love
- He calls her honey
- Dual POV
- Narrated by Maxine Mitchell & Jason Clarke

This was cute! After her divorce, Londyn sets off in her restored Cadillac to travel from Boston to California to reunite the Cadillac with her childhood friend. But she only makes it to West Virginia when she needs repairs.

This is where she meets the local mechanic, Brooks. The pair have an instant connection and when things keep happening to her vehicle prolonging her stay, they make the most of their time together.

While I liked their honesty and communication with each other, it was a bit too insta-love for me. Like she was changing her plans and basically moving in with the guy three weeks after officially getting divorced? I mean he was hot but slow your roll 😂.

Loved it!

This was such a sweet romance book. Very simple in its conflict. It didn’t break my heart but I still loved the way it was written and the way the main characters came together. I’m looking forward to more.

3.5⭐️

i won't even lie, i started this and was like what. now why would this be good☺️ but then i found myself gripping the edge of my seat like no! she can't just move on from him! y'all are meant to be!!! that cute moment you just want to strangle the characters in a little tree cutout and force them to have their HEA

i definitely think this was only 3.5⭐️ for me because it was a novella and i needed to read the rest of the series (which i still haven't) like if you truly wanted to rate this, it feels best fit once all stories from runaway are locked up and shut yk. i will definitely be continuing in the near future but i loved this for what it was. nothing puts me in a good chokehold like devney perry's small-town romances with rugged me i just wanna eat
