I am so proud of Colm and Imo!! They went through so much hardship, but in the end they found each other. The most perfect family. I love the kings and queens big family they made together. Everyone is always there for each other no matter what.

It’s the end of a fun series. Sad it’s over, but looking forward to what is to come. It took me a little bit to get into this story. My interest came and went. It could be because of outside factors. If you enjoy surprise baby and/or sports romances, then this is one for you? The characters are relatable and will pull on your heartstrings. It’s nice to check in on old favs. The end of a reign.

I voluntarily read an early copy.

Full of turmoil, love and a bit of heat

This wasn’t my favorite Maya Hughes. And I believe that it was simply on a personal level. I liked the story in all its different aspects, but something felt a little bland to me. I didn’t really connect with either Colin or Imogen’s characters. There was a lot of back and forth and it seemed like they were only together for a very small position of the book.

I liked the way Maya Hughes dealt with pain of losing people in this book. I didn’t disagree with Colm and his aversion to Ford and his sister’s relationship and how he felt almost betrayed by them both. I got that and I enjoyed that story arc. And I also liked how loyal Imogen was to her late boyfriend. It was a hard thing to feel emotions and things for someone else after losing someone so important.

But they were both EACH simultaneously stuck and running away from problems through the whole book. It was dizzying, but I am glad to have read this.

Thank you to Maya Hughes for providing me with an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Heartless King is the final book in the Kings of Rittenhouse series and boy I have to say that I absolutely loved this book.

This book is sexy angsty and emotional. It was a perfect book to get me out of my reading slump.

I give this 5 out of 5.

This one was really good. I'd say the best book in this series. Colm and Imogen are so cute together. The character development and relationship arc was awesome. It also had the right amount of pacing. It was neither too fast nor too slow. I'm so glad I finally finished the series today. I can't wait to start the Fulton U series soon. I'm gonna take a break from sports romance and then jump back into the Fulton U series.

Good story but needs more editing (something I've found with many of this author's works). For eg. in chapter 20, Imo mentions she's going to take Colm to a club but in chapter 21, her taking him to a club is a total surprise for him. This wasn't an instance of miscommunication, but rather, it seemed like the author forgot she had already put that in the story prior. Another eg. is that Imo tells two different stories with two different timelines about her parents deaths. But tbh, this was a good read regardless even though I still don't *love* the hero bc of his actions and threats in the previous book.

This one... nope, no, just no. Not in this lifetime. Why did I do it to myself? I know I hate surprise pregnancy books but I had read the other 4 and felt like I needed to finish it. But this was atrocious. My least favourite in the series. I hated pretty much everything about this one. If I'd read this series first, I'd have quit her books after this. Thankfully I didn't, so I know she got better with the next series. But still, can someone permanently remove the words 'mushroom tip' from her brain because I literally gag every time I have to read it.
