Fantastic graphic novel adaptation of a wonderful classic fantasy book. Part of what makes this adaptation work so well is Gillis, the adaptor of the original story, using source material as best he could whenever he could. Beagle's stamp of approval is clear on this one. I was thoroughly impressed with the artwork matching the 1980s animated movie very closely. The interviews with Beagle and Gillis at the back of the book were happy bonuses for me.

Going to have to read this one again to fully understand it all, but it's definitely an interesting story with some beautiful prose.

The art was lovely, but the story felt much too condensed and disjointed. I feel this is an adaptation that's much more enjoyable for those with some previous experience with the story.

The art was stunning and the story was nice, but this just wasn't the right medium to experience the material in for me. I think I'll give the novel a go.

I ordered this thinking it was the actual book and was surprised to find it a graphic novel adaptation- nevertheless it was a beautiful story, and had just the right touch of the melancholy and new beginnings that all great books have in the end

The story of the last unicorn, an unfortunate magician named Schmedrick, and an evil red bull. The last unicorn desperately searches for other unicorns, but maybe she really is the last one.

I don't really read a lot of fantasy novels but this did hold my attention all the way through. It was an interesting story that would make a fun movie.
