i feel like the most recent additions to the lunar chronicle series lack quality work if that makes any sense. the last two short stories have felt like strange fanfiction of the series which is disappointing to see as it has been so long since fans have had updates on the characters.

genuinely so upset because i really wanted to see their wedding but instead we get this strange nonsensical hodgepodge of a story. pls i just wanted to wholesome moments, why must you rob me like this???

i also don't get why this was needed. if you want to revisit previous stories, there are definitely much better ways of doing it. all her stories have no connection so it's barely connected nonsense that gets in the way of seeing what our favorite characters are up to. i have no problems with revisiting old characters and adding on to stories, but has to be in a way that makes sense. by trying to judge 20 things at once, you fail to accomplish anything. i also don't get why the choose your own adventure had to include wonderland and other characters. there's no problem with the format but at least stick in one world!! (i am very upset)

SpoilerMaybe tomorrow I can tell you about the bachelor party Thorne threw for me the week before our wedding. It involved tigers and karaoke and was something of a disaster.’ He returned Cinder’s wink.” Oh man it’s been so long since I’ve read about the Cinder characters! I know this isn’t really canon but it was still fun. It’s one of those choose your own path stories. I used to read them more when I was younger and I always managed to get the worst ending and this one wasn’t any different. Lol. The premise for this is that Cinder is about to get married to Prince Kai and she’s in her room when Iko appears and tells her to follow her out the window. Then someone knocks on her door and you have to decide to follow iko or answer the door. I followed Iko but she took me to some other alternative reality where we were in the Gilded series (it’s all Marissa Meyer’s books that show up, even her contemporary characters) where everyone was acting really strange and basically I ended up kidnapped and inducted into the Erlking’s Wild Hunt and then I forget all my memories and no one ever hears from me again. Great ending, eh? But of course I went back and made some changes to my decisions and there are a lot of different things that can happen. I enjoyed choosing the paths and then going back to read what I missed and the other paths. But I don’t consider this canon, so it was just for funsies. Other ending: Cinder wakes up on her work bench and says she had the strangest dream — the entire Cinder series — and then Prince Kai arrives, just like the beginning of Cinder. Other ending: Cinder is actually in a role playing game of D&D that Jude, Prue and Quint are playing. Other ending: Cinder dies but it’s a story that Serilda is telling to the littles. Other ending: Cinder ends up right back in her room before the wedding starts. Other ending: cinder loses her memories in an explosion and joins the Renegades. Other ending: Cinder wakes up from a wild dream and Kai is there to calm her. They are already married. Other ending: Jest and Cath have a happy ending and come to live in Cinder’s world after cinder intervienes on their prophecy. Cinder tells the story to her two children, and she is happily married to Kai with their family. (This was the best one!) Other ending: Cinder wakes up from a wild daydream in the middle of the wedding ceremony. They get married and all is well. Other ending: Cinder is killed by Peter Peter.

I was really confused at the beginning ngl and I really took my time to choose but after a few endings I understood more about it so it was more easy.

I can't believe that I had to watch Jest die again ):

When I reached my first ending I was so confused istg didn't understand much, at least I kind of got a happy ending then obviously I got to the bad endings so yeah.

It did took me some time to get to the wedding but it was still kinda interesting to read the other endings.

Overall I really liked it, it was interesting :)

All I wanted was some cute Cinder and Kai moments, and this wasn’t even about their wedding. I’m so disappointed I might cry
