Cliffhanger.

So this Books was intense. I loved every minute except the end. I went into it not realizing it was a cliffhanger. That being said, I don’t have a choice but to read on. So amazing.

3.75 ⭐️ Struggled a little at first getting into this book and the characters, but glad I kept going. It turned into an interesting mystery. Definitely check TW.

I’m just not sure how to take these high school dark romances. I find them hard to believe and I know it’s a work of fiction, but this one storyline threw me. I liked the beginning because I have a weakness for the a**hole alpha male. But as I kept reading it just started to piss me off with how Lake took all the abuse. Then the crazy storyline about Kiernan just made me roll my eyes throughout. This was too much for me and I preferred Penelope Douglas’ “Bully”. Similar plots but a lot more enjoyable!

What did I just read?!? And why did it take me so long?!? I am crushing hard on B.B. Reid, she needs to keep writing me some stories like this. Holy smokes, I love a good dark, mature YA book, and she took it to a whole other level. It's dark, and dangerous, and such a great break from the rom coms that everyone seems to be putting out right now. This book is seething is rage and lust, and I literally could not put it down. It was that good. This book was told all in Lake's POV.

Updated 11/4/23 - Changed to a 4 star because I think the plot was a little too long winded when it came to the bombs that had been dropped. But everything else I still loved and had a great time rereading. So know I’m actually going to the next book.

<strong>Wow</strong>

I don’t know why I haven’t read this because it features a very possessive and obsessive hero.

I have been nervous about this, but this exceeded my expectations and it’s made me want to get a physical copy! So I’m definitely going to get the whole entire series in physical copy form and binge it.

Our hero is the epitome of what I want my heroes to be! Love him!!

At first, I was really annoyed with Lake and all that she took from Kieran, I wanted to reach into the book grab her by the shoulders, look her in the eyes, and tell her "girl, get ahold of yourself, why are you letting this guy dictate your life? Put your big girl panties on and stand up to him!"
The story is intense and immersive, and I found myself stuck there for days.
