When I first started reading this book, I had read about three or four chapters in, and I asked myself, "Why am I reading this?"

It's not that I didn't like the book or don't the like series. I have enjoyed the series, but I was kind of upset with this book. It just seemed to go nowhere. The authors always take to the very end with subplots and stuff in between to keep you reading to the very end when The Big Something is going to occur, but The Big Something only takes up like twenty pages and then the book is over until the next one.

. . . I am curious as to how this whole Aurox/Kalona thing is gonna play out . . . Overall, I mean, if you have been a fan of the books since the beginning, I would recommend you read it, but if you just picked it up and thought, "Hey, this looks good," . . . Well, yeah.

These books were a real guilty pleasure.
I read them all, could not get enough, that doesn't mean they are good.
Some parts are, and most parts are just ... he's a bird right?

This series definitely got to the point where it was time to turn in the towel, and I think that time came and went a little while ago.

I like the whole series, but I'm getting a little tired of the whole
Spoiler no one believes that the head mistress is a bad guy thing. It would be super obvious to anyone that she is, and if anyone were to mention that they saw darkness surrounding her, they wouldn't wait for confirmation or evidence, they would take action. I know the authors want to make money off of this series, but I think 10 books is enough. You have gotten your point across, you made great characters, but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. I'll read the next book in hopes that it is the last one of the series, but the way they keep going, I'm doubting that it will be.

First off let me say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series and for some reason I think I judge it a little less harshly than I do other books. If I'm being honest this series is probably being drug out A LOT longer than it has to. Instead of coming up with one solid plot line and making it span over three or four novels P.C. and Kristin Cast have fifty different things going on and no end to the series in sight. (This is book 9 in the series). However, even though I believe this series couldve ended four books ago the story is still pretty entertaing and these characters make the books worth reading. I mean come on who wouldn't want a BFF like Stevie Rae? Or have hot guys like Stark, Eric, and Heath drooling all over them. If this was any other series, with any other characters, I believe I would have lost interest a long time ago but the characters are so relatable, loveable and entertaining that P.C. and Kristin could write ten more books and I'd still buy every one.

Meine Wertung:
4 von 5 Sternen

There were some... interesting... choices the authors made here. Noy much else to say that I haven't already said for the others in this series.

Adding a review for this as I've rated it without a review.

A lot of things have happened since. 2014 Was a very hard year for myself so all the reviews are showing up on the same date. I can't explain why they are, if the ratings are justice or accurate I can also not say when I truly read these. I'm just going to say 2014 on the same day added just to keep the year right if not the month...

I have to admit that Destined was better than the last one. But it is still my last House of Night book ever. I'm so not going to continue this series.

It surprises me but everytime I read her books I love them! This book was no different! Very creative and unexpected! I love the storyline and characters that have continued to make appearances throughout this series.

Major relief to get some other POV characters in this one as it alleviates constantly having to put up with Zoey.

Spoiler The constant pop culture references aren't my fave but I think it's cute that Rephaim and Stevie Rae are watching Game of Thrones because there's Ravens in it.

Kalona has become the ultimate unattainable goal - a dad that is sorry that he was a piece of shit. Here for Kalonas redemption arc as long as it stays in the background. </SPOILER>
