A lovely collection post-apocalyptic short stories. Some were misses (maybe four?), but most of them were very good. I wished a couple were novels because I really wanted to know more about that world. Definitely an enjoyable read. Terrifying, but enjoyable.

One of the first short story fiction books I've ever read that I left happier than I began

This was about half fantastic and half throwaway stories.

several of the stories were rather weird, but they were all pretty good authors, kinda disappointed in a few

An incredibly solid collection of short stories. Most of them highly entertaining and original. Some more so than others obviously but I wouldn't put any story in the book under 3 stars and most are at 4 stars.

I've acquired a lot of JJ Adams edited compilations here and I'm looking forward to reading them especially if they are as well done as this one.

The stories within range from very good to not so good. I liked that there was a lot of variation in how each individual author depicted the end of days. Definitely not your typical collapse of civilization stories.

There is nothing really impressive about it, but still a good read.
