God (mrs. martha wells), thank you for giviing me the murderbot diaries bc now I'm too emotional to function. I just love this series so much that it took over my brain for a good portion of the month. 

As for the review portion of this, I will say that I am a tiny bit confused on System Collapse. But I think that goes for every sci-fi book I read. I just have a hard time imagining this ginormous underground structure. I wanna say I do (after reading and thinking it over), but as I was into the book it was hard for me to follow the actions. 

However, I absolutely love how MB faced its mental trauma and PTSD, with it taking a small step towards its recovery. Just perfect. I was also very touched with the way MB used media to connect to the separatist, which made it feel like a very full circle moment. It was wonderful/engaging to see how MB and ART could work in a creative and informative manner to persuade and connect with humans, bloody wonderful.

I mean I guess it was good. I wanted more MB & ART interactions. Also, this might be more of a fandom building up wrong expectations thing, but I think more page time could have been spent on MB coping with its trauma. Its sudden turnaround at the end that's related to it felt like it had no build-up and was instead written to be a neat happy ending. But that makes no sense because this isn't even the last book in the series.

PHENOMENAL!!!! If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. Everyone has been through so much and they are doing such a good job and I love them. The team keeps trying to save strangers from contract slavery and help people even though they are miserable, injured assholes (Murderbot and ART are at least some of the time). I love how Murderbot is not an objective observer sometimes (it thinks there is something wrong with Three for preferring educational modules over fiction).

I wasn't very thrilled to discover that we were still in the same plotline on the same planet when starting the book, and I find the main plot quite bland and forced. However, I was pleasantly surprised to be able to learn more about Murderbot's inner emotional state. Here it is at the most vulnerable we have seen, and we finally see it start to process the events of the past books. Murderbot has constantly been caring for Mensa's emotional well-being while neglecting its own mental health and it has finally come to a head. I am happy to see the character development progress in this new direction and I hope the plot is able to advance and complement this further.
