A really nice read!

Lot's of great stuff going on here - my favorite parts being the great sense of community - for good or worse - that keeps reverberating through the book. The feeling of being on the outside that Yadriel experiences is gutwrenching at most times, and although this book contains lots of really serious stuff, I read through it with speed and a good sense of flow. Also, great humor, and not only Yadriel is well written. Really looking forward to book 2.

the plot twist actually made me audibly gasp even though it should have been so obvious.

I only puts 4 stars instead of 5 because I spotted the vilain in like, chapter 2 or 3. Literally when the character appeared for the first time.

BUT.

I don't think the mystery was the purpose of this book. It was a beautiful tell of acceptance, representation, and the questions that gravitate around death. I loved it, especially the characters, who were the real focus here.

Thank you Aiden for this
