Not particularly mysterious, but ok, not too bad for these English village murders a la MIDSOMER MURDERS. The ladies, however, ask such probing questions, even I felt an urge to snap at them, WHY are you guys so interested!? How is it any of your damn business?

Supposedly Jude is charming and gets away with it, but why does stick-up-her-bum Carole do as well?

(I listened to the audio book while on a long road trip, which helped me get through the story. Otherwise I could not have gotten past the first 5 chapters.)

Great mystery with a surprisingly simple ending contrasting to the wild speculation that occurred prior to its solving. Jude brings refreshing comic relief - leaving the reader satisfied after it is complete

Very troubled by the horribly inhumane details. Skipped them when the topic became apparent. Completely unnecessary for the storyline.

Kind of a sleepy, slow-moving mystery, even for an English cozy. Some good character development for the two protagonists, and an interesting murder puzzle.

Again as with the others fun. Though the motivation felt a bit... megh. So I suppose I wanted a better justification.

But I love being in Fethering because its a fun little setting which fun little characters.

Another very readable instalment in this series. I like that Carole and Jude keep being put in new locales to find bodies rather than just multiple murders in the same location. And I like the continuing mystery about Jude‘s background!

Fethering #3. This was an interesting plot although a bit far-fetched.

A Fethering mystery, with Jude and her friend Carole Seddon once again sleuthing when a mummified torso is found in the cellar during a dinner party. Jude is one of the guests, so it is only natural for her to become involved.

Brett's writing style appeals to me, especially considering some of the fluffy mysteries I've read lately.

I'm finding the Fethering series to be quite enjoyable. This one, despite the gloomy attitude towards romantic relationships, was even better than the previous two, mostly because of the further character development of the two leads. I love that they have reactions to each other that are not neatly wrapped up in a bow.

Perfect for listening to as an audiobook.
