This book felt like a time capsule of late-2000s pop media culture, from the Facebook photo albums to the obsession with people like Britney Spears and Amanda Knox. As a thriller, I thought it could have been better - the cover blurb gives away most of the story, and the plot twist isn't really that much of a twist. The writing style also wasn't really for me; it felt very detached, and I had a hard time empathizing with the characters or understanding their motivations, practically until the end of the book.
Graphic: Death, Drug use, Forced institutionalization, Blood, and Murder
Moderate: Mental illness, Vomit, Toxic friendship, and Sexual harassment
Minor: Homophobia and Suicidal thoughts

I thought this was such an interesting idea and so fun; I do think there were aspects of the eating disorder that could have been handled better

This book had everything I wanted and more: late 2000s pop culture references, two unhinged 20-something girlies as main characters, unreliable narration, beautiful writing, and a crazy twist, all against the electric background of Berlin. 5 stars.
Graphic: Eating disorder, Murder, and Sexual harassment

picked up because i love berlin & will read anything set there, and i love stories about uni students and female friendships. fell flat for me, i didn't like or connect with zoe at all and thought other characters like hailey, constance, even mathias were much more interesting. i hate when the narrator is essentially just telling us about other people and that's what this whole book revolves around (suppose for a book called "other people's clothes" i should have seen that coming). hailey's obsession with law & order, amanda knox, and ivy's death made for a believable backdrop for a tense and mysterious final act. ultimately just wasn't my vibe but i can see why others enjoyed it
