Started of well in the beginning, but got too long winded in the end. Was a struggle to finish, but did it anyway.

Not the best writing and quite disturbing, however I found myself continuously wondering what the next chapter would bring. I thought the characters were fairly well-developed. I wouldn't be surprised if the happenings in the book have actually taken place in the real world.

Jätän kesken sivulla 72, kun päähenkilö paria tuntia äitinsä murhaamisen jälkeen (minkä tiesin olevan pointti tässä kirjassa ja mikä jollain tavalla kiinnostikin mua) menee panemaan SEN PARHAAN KAVERIN POIKAA (joka on 30 v mut silti mitä hittoa en vaa pääse yli tästä). Tällä kertaa ois voinu luottaa goodreadsin arvosteluihin enemmän :)))

Just a wonderful book really. A gripping storyline, with characters you can’t help but love and hate. Gripping yet still quite moving-hard to explain, but this book made me feel

Very well written, but haunting. Best left for when you are feeling particularly strong of mind.

I am diappointed I didn't like this story. The content is very dark, dealing with murder and a difficult family life. I had read another of Alice Sebold's books which was The Lovely Bones and that I enjoyed. This book however left be very confused. The constant flashback and stream of conciseness left me unsure of some plot elements. Overall, I didn't enjoy this book, but I do plan on reading her memoir Lucky and I hope I will like two out of three of her books.

Didn't grip me as well as it did in the first few chapters. Things slowed to a weird halt and I found myself slogging through it
