I don't feel like this sequel was necessary. I was bored by about halfway through and considered DNFing, but wanted to see if it got better. It didn't. All the characters were unlikeable. Many of the twists were too far-fetched and unrealistic to be believable. It did give me Verity vibes in the beginning, though. I still want to read more by Frieda McFadden, this one was just a miss for me.

Favourite quote: "I'm sorry. I know you liked the Broccoli." 😂

The housemaid's secret is the sequel to The housemaid.  It follows Millie who is main character in first book. She is now turning over a new leaf so to speak. Millie is only taking "legit " cleaning jobs . After losing a well paid job, she puts in a ad for a new one . Soon after Millie gets a job offer from a well known CEO of a tech company . As she starts the job , Millie starts noticing weird things happening involving her employer's wife .

I rated this book 5 stars . I really enjoyed how easy and fast this read was . The plot twist I didn't see coming . The heart racing ending . Even the romances on the side plot were enjoyable . I definitely recommend .

Trigger /content warnings : domestic abuse , murder , mention of suicide and suicide ideation, cheating , fat phobia , eating disorders , and more .

I definitely enjoyed the first one more but this was still good. The begging was slow, and Millie’s attitude toward her relationship with Brock was just super annoying the entire time. However, the story has the same flow as the first book and it grabbed my attention once the action started.

I would agree with others that this can be read as a stand-alone but I would recommend reading book 1 first!
