This book was very uninteresting compared to the first, the writing was good. The plot made no sense.Ā

I liked this book even better than the first one in the series! While it starts out VERY similar, I thought the mystery was more suspenseful, and the plot twists werenā€™t as easy to see coming, and that kept me on the edge of my seat.

The rest of this review contains spoilers.

I went into this book not trusting anyone (except for Millie and Enzo), and itā€™s a good thing, because there was more than one villain. A few times, I had my doubts about Brock and whether he was genuine, but Iā€™m glad he didnā€™t end up being shady and involved in any of the mystery.

One moment that really stuck out to me was the scene in the cabin with Marybeth. The whole time, I thought it was Millie, and I was so scared that she was going to throw everything away when she didnā€™t actually need to. When I found out it was Marybethā€¦mind blown, and I literally said ā€œYou go, girl.ā€ Then, in the very end, to find out that Millie was still involved in thatā€¦I also said ā€œgood for her!ā€

I was very satisfied with the ending! Wendy got what she deserved. Same with Millie! She made some reckless choices throughout, but Iā€™m glad things worked out the way they did. And Iā€™m glad Detective Ramirez and Millie had the last conversation that they did.

another win in the Freida McFadden department. this book was amazing, and of course had me hooked from the beginning. iā€™m obsessed with the fact that she never fails to write twists that you NEVER see coming!! canā€™t wait to start another read by her.Ā

The ending truly is what made this book worth-while. I really didn't like it at first, but once it got down to the last 30 percent, I was completely enthralled. Truly by the end of it, I wanted to give it 5 stars, but I didn't...

The reason for it was because, one of the characters basically has an eating disorder/is very fatphobic and there is not a trigger warning in sight for it. That really bothered me because I'm a believer in trigger warnings, and despite the fact that it's not a large part of the story, it's a large part of the character's personality. And I feel that that warrants a trigger warning.
