 3.75 stars. Easy read. Psychological suspense with a bit of steamy romance. Cringey, but a page turner. Twist ending. Jeneva Rose seems like the Colleen Hoover of thrillers.

Grace stays at an Airbnb in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming. Her hunky rancher host introduces her to quite a change from her New York lifestyle. But, what secrets are he and his friends and family hiding?

Wow o wow! This was crazy. Grace is a New Yorker taking a vacation at Calvins Air Bnb in Wyoming. As Grace and Calvin grow closer and things don't add up, Grace and Calvin grow suspicious of the people around them. I absolutely do not want to give anything away but this book has one of my favorite tropes ever in it. A slay! I adore the dual pov and day count as the chapter marker. I think the characterization of the cast of characters and then the subtle destabilizing of said characterization  creates a very unsettling story that twists and turns in new ways. I thought I knew exactly what was happening but I did not. My only issue, other then the horrible pacing and semi cringy writing, is that a couple of things never made sense even with the plot twist. Especially everything with Joe and the animals.

This book is my first by this author and im afraid to read another one. This book made me cringe soooo many times while reading it. I dont know if i will ever look at food, rhe same way again. I seriously was hoping this book would be good. It had sooo much potential but it fell flat for me. The ending should have been sprinkled throughout the book. Also, Grace was so disgusting at the end. Why did you need to be like that??? Im giving this book 3 stars. It literally felt like a creepy cringy romance for the first 250 pages. #jenevarose #dissappointment #somuchpotential

They say love makes you blind. This wasn’t love though. This was lust, and it makes you downright stupid.

Grace Evans, an attractive city woman, visits a ranch in the middle of nowhere to get away from her busy city life and gets a little cozy with her host Calvin, an attractive cowboy. However, there’s a locked door, a missing woman, a sheriff snooping around and an angry ex that complicate the love budding between Grace and Calvin.

I don’t know if it’s the sheer number of horror/thriller movies, television shows and books that I’ve consumed, but I find myself knowing the ending at the very beginning, so the twists in this one weren’t really all that surprising to me.

That said, I love the red herrings thrown in and at least twice, I thought, “Huh, maybe I’ll be wrong and so-so will be the killer.”

The book flops between Grace and Calvin’s POV, and I found this enjoyable and adding to the fun and mystery.

The love story (and triangleish?) was cringey and meh. It was more of a lust plot than love, in my opinion, and there was a little of smut.

It’s good for what it is, but if you’re not a fan of cringe and lust stories, I suggest steering clear, because you have to wade through half the book before the thriller part of the plot kicks in.

Joe Golberg from “You” meets the female Dexter. But neither MC’s are that interesting. Lots of plot holes in this story. I didn’t feel connected to any of the characters & I basically rolled my eyes every time Calvin talked. What an obsessive cry baby loser, major “lil d energy”

 All that suspense build up just for everything to unravel in the last few chapters & not everything got an explanation..

Why wouldn’t Grace a woman! save Bri from being tied up in a Cabin! She just released her & kicked her then drove away!? The only explanation to Grace being a serial killer is that it’s in her “nature” but I still would’ve liked more of an explanation as to why she chooses to kill AirBnB hosts. Why did she choose Calvin ? & wtf why was Grace’s “work” & “laptop” mentioned multiple times in the beginning just for that detail to be forgotten about 🤦🏻‍♀️
