This was a pretty good book. And that's about it - surprisingly I haven't really forgotten the plotline or characters at all, even though I read it back in June, but it still feels forgettable. I can easily recall it, but until right now I hadn't given it another thought upon completion. I'm fairly certain there was some adult language in it, and some nasty characters, so if you prefer "nice," this is not the book for you.

This author has a good gimmick and she's a pretty good writer, but the main character is an excruciating doormat and much of the novel consists of her putting up with cartoonishly awful boyfriend/boss/coworkers/etc. Tiresome - I skipped about 100 pages and didn't miss them.

Cute premise but the ends tidied up a little too nicely.

I decided to read Blind Submission after reading the NY Times review of her most recent novel The Gift. I enjoyed 3/4's of the book immensely. The plot was different and I liked the literary setting. I felt that the Agent character was a little too reminiscent of The Devil Wears Prada and the ending was a little too contrived. I do, however, find the author to be unique with a very interesting voice. I look forward to additional works.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, more than I thought I would. It is different from anything I have read so far. It was a little bit mystery, a little bit romance, and definitely ambitious. This book is one that is hard to recommend because it is so different, but something I would read again, which is something I do not do much. Overall an interesting, captivating, and entertaining book.

I started this book at the beginning of the flight home from Boston, and finished it about an hour from LAX. It was that good. It grabbed me from the beginning and I just could not put it down. I love books about books, and this one was different from the previous ones I've read because it was about working for a literary agent. I just loved everything about it - it's a must read.

Not a fabulous novel. Rather boring, with a little mystery intrigue. But there is a really good sex scene at the end- around page 250. I'm not sure it's worth it just for the sex scene though... It was an interesting look at the publishing world though, it seems quite similar to the television universe, in terms of ambition and pace.

Young woman goes to work for an unbelievably demanding boss in an environment with shitty backstabbing co-workers. Gets offered a raise that forces her to stay with the company for two years or have to pay it back.

Yeah, so I already read The Devil Wears Prada and The Nanny Diaries, why did I want to read the same book and same plot rehashed for the book publishing industry? Admittedly there is a little bit of a mystery thrown in but it just wasn't enough. Just wasn't for me.

I read Ginsberg's Waiting a few years ago, so I was intrigued when I saw that she'd put out a fiction. This was just okay, though... Not even good chick lit-y brain candy.
