This novel mostly consists of several clichés I try to avoid.
First we have the rude, insulting parents. Which resulted in a MC constantly putting herself down. Add to that an 8-year-old who has to be cute, gifted and as well perfect in every other way, except she is performed with the voice of a toddler with a lisp. Fourth strike is the too big part the baking show is. This results in a romance which makes me feel happy and hopeful for only 10% of the novel.

The Great British Bake Off but make it really bisexual, this was so good!! This is the perfect idea for a romance series and I cannot wait to read the next book.
(Content warning for biphobia and sexual assault).

I really wanted to love this with all the baking, but it just didn’t do it for me. If it wouldn’t have been a book club selection I might have stopped reading it.

4.5 stars. This was hilarious and delightful. My only quibble is that I wanted more Harry and less Alain. Also this book walks the line between chicklit and romance and probably falls more on the chicklit side. Which I knew going in but probably would have annoyed if I hadn't known in advance.

Charming. Smart. Funny.
I thoroughly enjoyed Rosaline's journey to learn more about herself as she made her way through the episodes in a famous British baking TV show. Hall did a great job of developing the main characters along with some epic side characters. Jennifer the producer has the raunchiest mouth I've ever encountered and was blazingly funny. As was Grace, the host. She was so well drawn (and well narrated) that I could picture her perfectly. Perhaps one of the actresses from AbFab? And Roseline's daughter was so very, very precocious and endearing.
This was an absolute treasure to read!
