Its worse than the show in terms of how fucked the characters are. It wasn't even sure where this book was even going, it didn't feel like it had an end point. Its just characters being assholes to each other. And why does it constantly comment on the 14yr old's chest?

Een zeer verslavend boek. Heb het binnen een dag uitgelezen, ik kon gewoon niet stoppen met lezen. Het doet me denken aan de tijd dat ik als tiener de hele serie heb gebinge watched. Gelukkig heb ik de vervolgdelen ook liggen en kan ik voorlopig nog wel even genieten van de serie. Hoewel ik het soms lastig vind om te geloven dat de personages zelf nog maar tieners zijn, met alle drank en seks dat in het boek wordt beschreven.

This book is VERY different from the television show. First off, most of the kids in the book do a lot of drugs, i mean all the kids smoke, get high, and do a lot of recreational drugs.
It starts off with Blair being bulimic. It goes on to mention how Dan smokes and you find out Chuck and Nate getting high in the park on the way to school. Serena is very conceited in this book, then on the show. Blair in the book is more human than in the show (ie - less b***hy). I also feel this book stays more true to lifestyle of the upper east side in manhattan. Even with the good, the bad, and the ugly aspects of it.
I did enjoy the book a lot though. I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but it wasn't boring either. This is more of a book for young girls, more so who aren't too impressionable, because of the activities that go on in the book.

i loved the show so thought frick it lets read the books! the plot has a lot of differences and there are a few characters who i feel are a bit redundant but i likey

Needed a fluffy read as I didn’t want to read a ghosty book before bed. This fit the bill- total teen fluff.
