Hot the same way any of Hazlewoods stuff is hot. But bro be fucking for real you overheard her confess to sex fantasies about you, waited 24 hrs, DIDNT BUY CONDOMS, and then tried to fuck her in the kitchen? You had every opportunity to solve this problem responsibly!

Such a fun novella, and I love that it brings out women in STEM!

This was 2.5 stars

Sometimes it felt like this novella was a draft because of how fast certain things happened. When everything changes 180°, I felt like I missed an entire chapter where the inciting incident that made them turn the corner happened.

Mara was quirky and Liam was just the opposite. It had very strong Love Hypothesis vibes. I enjoyed how they talked about the Bachelor and her blog. But at the same time, there were too many loose ends - did he get a new job and the twist...that came out of nowhere.

SpoilerWhy doesn’t Liam ever have sex!?!? He doesn’t like it?? That’s not a good enough explanation. Had he had sex before? I need more background on this! And how did Mara not ask more questions? She just shrugged it off and didn’t think twice about it. If a thirty-something year old man told me he doesn’t like sex, I would have a few questions for him.

This met my expectations in every way, where my expectations were based on having previously read three full length novels by the same author, in the same “series.”

The story was what I expected it to be from reading her other books. But the smut was ick. They both said and did some cringe things that ruined the scene. I’ll still probably read the other ones because, you know, women in STEM.
