    When I tell you this is the perfect book to make you feel something , I mean it. I was crying, screaming, and gasping for air. This book is full of so many deep and inspiring perspectives, that it really get you thinking. The story follows the struggles of a Nigerian Boy that discovers he's gay and all the problems that arise with that realization. he goes through to many earth shattering situations , and author is amazing at  giving you insight what its really like to be in the situation. It really feels as though You are walking in the main character's shoes, which only makes reading this book more emotion invoking.

Damn, Uzodinma Iweala sure knows how to write sad stuff. As with <i>Beasts of No Nation</i>, it's hard for me to say that I "liked" the book or that I would recommend it because the content is so upsetting. I will say that it was beautifully written, though.

The author made a stylistic choice not to use quotation marks, which I felt made the dialogue confusing. I had to reread sections to make sure I knew who was talking. It would have been 5 stars for me  without that aspect.
