Wolf is a dog trying to convince everyone he's a wolf. He's not cute, he's not quiet, he's a lone wolf. He is also alone at the animal shelter. All of the animal shelter employees try to show him love, but he's convinced that he will remain a lone wolf. It takes a special girl to realize that this lone wolf belongs to her pack. Cute adoption story, perfect conversation starter for kids getting a pet.

This book is a really cute pet adoption story about a grumpy little dog who's "NOT CUTE!" dang it. But he gets picked out by someone who loves him anyway. Great art.

This is a very cute book about a dog who thinks he is tough, not cute, and a lone wolf. He keeps saying he is OK being all by himself but deep down he wants a friend. By the end of the book he gets adopted by a family and makes his own pack. This would make a great lesson about how sometimes people have hard exteriors to make up for sad and lonely feelings deep down. A great storytime book!

Working part-time at a bookstore, one of the unanticipated benefits is being able to take time to read the occasional picture book. This one caught my eye because the little “Wolf” of the story is drawn exactly how I would draw my pudgy, spindly-legged rescue chihuahua, Cheeto. But wow, I didn’t expect the emotional impact. The story is a mirror of how Cheeto came to us, and I stood in the back room and wept ugly tears. What a gift.

A little dog insists that he's a lone wolf and doing great. But, when he gets picked up and sent to the pound, will he be able to find a forever family?
Adorable illustrations and a fun story, this will be great for preschool story time.

Adorable. My nieces would love this book. It teaches kids the importance of searching for the diamond in the rough when going to the humane society.

All dogs have a bit of the wild in them, but when this little guy is rescued from his alley, he isn't willing to accept being domesticated... but maybe a little love isn't out of place. A fun blend of dog psychology and a reminder that every dog is deserving of a home, this book isn't meant to be cute, but it's pretty sweet anyway.
