This nonfiction narrative tells us the early life of Texas governor Ann Richards all the way up to her life as governor.

I read this with my 8 and 9 year old. Here’s their review:
They said that the story was showing “girl power” vibes. They said they learned that women can be anything they want to be. They both agreed it was a bit long, but they enjoyed it nonetheless.

Meh, looking up to political figures and idolizing them isn’t my favorite type of book.

I know it’s important to show girls they can make a difference just like a man can is important, so overall, this book is an okay one. I appreciate the main message: girls should reach for their dreams and can whatever a man can accomplish.

Are you in the mood for a Texas-sized picture book biography ? Look no further than Meghan P Browne’s debut Indelible Ann. This gorgeously illustrated and well-written book tells the life story of former governor Ann Richards. It’s an inspiring tale for girls (and boys) who want to dream big and change the world. The narrative is just lovely and there are even more facts in the back matter.
