Un rythme lent qui permet de donner au livre une ambiance sombre et mystérieuse. J'ai eu un peu de mal au début à comprendre l'alternance "passé / présent" mais ça ne m'a pas gêné pour la suite de ma lecture une fois le schéma livresque acquis. Ce n'est pas un coup de coeur mais j'ai énormément apprécié l'histoire et les personnages de la neuvième maison. J'ai déjà hâte de lire le second tome !

I couldn’t really figure out what was happening and was not invested in any of the characters. If felt like the author kept dumping information with no clear direction of where we were heading. There were so many names within the first 100 pages and I couldn’t keep track of everyone. Felt like a lot of work and forcing myself to keep going. Really wanted to love this one and was excited about it. Big bummer.
