Book Review: The Beginning After ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Genre: Thriller

Published: 2/13/18

Summary: Her husband’s dead. But his secrets have yet to be buried. When the sudden death of her husband rocks the very foundation of Peighton’s life, she is left questioning everything she thought she knew about the man she loved. Who killed Todd? And why? When a police officer assigned to her husband’s case tells her he thinks there may be more to the mystery than she initially thought, Peighton agrees to work with him to find out the truth. The only problem? The officer has a dew hidden motivations of his own. In a moment of weakness, Peighton finds herself falling for a man she barely knows while grieving a man she thought she’d love forever. Trapped in a maze of deception and lies, Peighton must make a choice of who she can trust. And, in an effort to protect those she loves, she’ll have to reveal a few secrets of her own. Secrets that could ruin everything.

Review: I will admit, this is the first one of Kiersten’s stories that I did not love. I didn’t feel the thrill that I usually get when reading one of her books. As always, I liked the message that she was conveying at the end, but the book just didn’t grip me the way that I thought it would. Oh well...you can’t like them all! Onto the next one!

Hooked from the very beginning! Tons of jaw dropping moments. Every person has a secret that they don’t want to spill! Amazing book!

Fast paced mystery. I felt like i had whiplash the amount of times it kept switching the plot line on me. Overall it was really interesting, however i did figure out who the “enemy” was.

If I could give this book zero stars, I would. The characters in this book were insufferable. Were we supposed to like any of them?

The plot was slow. Soooooo slow. I’ve read another of this author’s books and it was much better. Perhaps she’s fine tuned her craft?
