Lovesick Ellie is a manga that hides a very soft love story, in which the main characters have a hard time showing their true feelings out of embarrassment.

Eriko has always been a lonely girl, she goes unnoticed, so she hasn't had any friends. That's why she spends her days fantasizing about the most popular boy in school, Ohmi, and writing those fantasies in the form of a story on Twitter. One day, Erin overhears a conversation and discovers Ohmi's true character, while he discovers Erin's Twitter fantasies, which leads them in a very comical way to start a friendship, which over time grows into something more.

The first thing that caught my attention in this manga was Fujimomo's drawing style, I definitely love it. And the story, in addition to the romance, has some very funny overtones that made me laugh out loud throughout the volume. Both Eriko and Ohmi seem very interesting characters to me and I'm looking forward to seeing how they evolve, as characters and as a couple. In addition, two secondary characters have appeared that will give a lot to talk about.

I recommend it if you like romances with touches of humor.

This is like if Tina from Bob's Burgers wrote her erotic friend fiction on Twitter and Jimmy Jr was a secret tsundere.

Ellie is the resident invisible girl at her school who spends her free time on Twitter role-playing the life she wished she had with a boyfriend that doesn't exist. This fake boyfriend is based on Ohmi, the school's good guy idol, beloved by all for his kindness and good looks. Only, it turns out, this is a facade Ohmi puts on for yet unknown reasons. Not only that, but he discovers Ellie's secret Twitter account!

Honestly, at this point, I thought this was going to go the way of Mission of Love, where all the main characters are trash monsters who, for some reason, fall in love. Luckily, that is not the case. Ellie is embarrassed but Ohmi never uses this information against her. And, Ellie genuinely finds his tsun personality hot so they form an unproblematic bond.

From that point on, it is a straightforward Shojo, but honestly, that is the best one can hope for. I feared the Twitter fiction would be creepy but it is so obviously fiction that it works fine. I will probably continue reading this series casually.

Thank you to netgalley for letting me read and review this book!

To be honest I wasn’t entirely sure I liked the manga. Mainly because i found the first chapter to be so cringe it was hard to read. But It honestly got so good near the end of chapter 1. Ellie and Sara are both so weird I love it, I would love to see more of her later. . I loveeeeeee Ellie and Omi-Kun. I didn’t like him at first because he was such a jerk. He’s still a jerk but I like it now. I don’t know what that says about me… It turned out so good, I’m so surprised!

It was an interesting concept for sure even if I've seen similar ones done before. I feel like everything was so rushed so far.
So much happened in the first volume already! How does it end with them possibly going to a hotel!
I think it was a casually fun read through and I enjoyed how silly Elllie's thirst tweets were.

Hilarious! I literally laughed my way through this volume. I also like the two main characters' chemistry with each other and their awkwardness. The side characters are great. I especially enjoy the friendship development of Misaki and Ellie, a fun twist in a common trope. Thought it was going in a typical fake friend using the awkward girl to close to the hot guy, but the author completely subverts this expectation. One of the best Mangas I've read in a while.
