A book that explains so clearly what it means to love God above all things, not just sexuality, but everything. This book was challenging and beautiful.

You ever read something in an attempt to understand The Other Side's perspective, and immediately regret it? If you want to read a book devoid of any non-USA-born-again-Christian cultural, social, psychological, systemic, global, etc. contexts... I guess this is it.
Like others have said, this isn't a dig at Jackie necessarily. But I think the views in this book are harmful to many.

I respect Jackie and her journey. I don’t think her story is the universal experience of same-sex attracted Christians, and I would caution against using this as an authoritative work on the complexities of homosexuality and Christianity.
Graphic: Religious bigotry
Moderate: Sexual assault
Minor: Homophobia
I can imagine this book might be painful for anyone with religious trauma, especially if it surrounds homosexuality in any way.macliffe's review against another edition

This is a great book! Filled with good scripture that anyone can use. Author does a great job of telling about life style not aligning with faith.

I think the final chapter says it best: marriage/sexuality/sexual intimacy is not a person’s whole identity or calling. No matter your sexual orientation or beliefs about sexuality, a person’s calling is to glorify God, and marriage is not the goal of a Godly life.

I thought perhaps Jackie’s story would trace back to people, friends, her church - but the only thing it traces back to is the transformative power of The Holy Spirit. It is a shocking testimony that I still do not fully understand - but is a God our human minds can fully understand really worth worshipping anyway? I am thankful to have been able to read about Jackie’s story even if I do not fully Understand it. Regardless, and think it is helpful for anyone struggling with temptations towards any kind of thing you may consider sin.

This book has given me hope. Hope that He can and will bring my sister back to the faith and repent of the lifestyle she's chosen. I love reading and listening to how God has worked in the lives of other people, so thank you to the author for sharing your story.
