O sto strán to mohlo mať pokojne menej. Surrealistické, mysteriózne, miestami aj vtipné. Aj napriek tomu Hon na ovcu sa mi páčil viac.

" What was that all about?" said Kiki....

I gave Wild Sheep Chase five stars and relative to that this deserves six

Magical books but not books about magic. Surreal yet so very real. And so very good.

I'm officially hooked on Murakami.

This book took a while to pick up. Maybe that's Murakami's style. He gradually lures you into a seemingly mundane reality that you suddenly realize is not quite right. Once you pick up on that, you can't put it down. At least I couldn't.

It's not that there is such a densely packed plot. The narration by the protagonist is steady, quiet, and pensive - rarely panicked, though many of the situations he is faced with would cause alarm. But so many questions and possibilities appear once you realize anything can happen in this world, you must keep reading to find out how it all turns out.

Also, it's hard not to appreciate Murakami's wry satirical voice. This novel, written in the '80s offers up simultaneous appreciation and disgust for pop culture, excess, and big business.

When you read Murakami, you don't ask questions you just go with the flow and let the surreal wave sweep you.
