this is such a fun and wildly entertaining book. I love mary lou's distinctive, hilarious voice and how well it works w the diary format. but I have a lot of questions too… like HOW MANY COUSINS DOES MARY LOU HAVE? WHERE IS BEN? WHY IS A SEVENTEEN YR OLD DATING A THIRTEEN YR OLD? CARL RAY, WHERE ARE YOUR STANDARDS? but other than that, this is why I love sharon creech :D

I think I prefer reading this with my eyes to my latest experience listening to the audiobook on CD. No regrets though. It's just too bad the audiobook isn't available on any digital apps at the moment.

I really liked this book. I felt that the book was really interesting and that it did a good job of showing how Mary Lou felt. It has some really unexpected twists and turns and overall I just really love the character. Mary Lou Finney always seemed to have a sassy streak in her but also calming. fell that she did a really good job of developing the characters. Would recommend to middle school girls and people who like Young Adult.

It was a pretty good book. It is partially marketed as the prequel to Walk Two Moons, but the story is about someone else entirely and doesn't involve Salamanca from Walk Two Moons at all. I like that the book is written in journal entries, so we can read the story directly how Mary Lou wants to tell it. It's not like an unreliable narrator, but it does make you wonder what else may have happened that she didn't write about.

Giving very Walk Two Moons vibes, which of course makes sense. Read the whole thing in 3 hours.

As I've said before, I love Sharon Creech. This one was funny, and it was definitely something that you can relate to, if you were once a teenage girl. It's a classic love story, as far as love can go for a teenager, with a quirky family, and a strange cousin, and a quite thoughtful story that unfolds between them all. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
