Fleeing a controlling abusive ex, Dakota (h) is drawn to settle in the town of Screaming Woods where she attracts the attention of one the town's unusual resident, park ranger Jace (H), a wolfman. Jace doesn't know what to make of his intense attraction to Dakota, but come to realizes that she's his mate. Ultra-hot and steamy fated mates monster romantic quickie with chasing, claiming, knotting and more.

This was a wonderfully steamy monster romance. I loved how easily Ember Davis was able to fit a monster/ paranormal romance in with her broader story world with out it seeming out of place. I have been eagerly waiting to see how she would do it and it was perfect. I loved Jace and Dakota, they had such amazing chemistry and a unique bond. I’m a fan of this type of monster romance.

Good plot to spice ratio. Spicy primal times with an absolute OTT protective mmc 🥹 highly recommend. And that epilogue 🥵

Jace, the male wolfman lead, is feeling frustrated in his woods and drawn in a particular direction. When he follows his instincts, he finds Dakota, the female human lead, who felt drawn to the town when she looked at where to set up her business and now feels drawn to him. Jace is convinced she doesn’t need a monster, regardless of what they both want, and Dakota has an ex who is stalking her…

This novella is dual POV, well written, and a cute and sexy read. I enjoyed Dakota’s determination to make this new start work for her. I understood Jace’s concern about whether he was a suitable partner. I appreciated the bond connection between them and the intimate scenes, and enjoyed the epilogue showing their HEA.
