This book was really fast paced like all of the books in the series so far. I will say though, this book wasn't my most favorite but it wasn't my least favorite either. I usually love and fall over the bodyguard trope but this didn't really do much for me.  Riona was the grumpy. She the stereotypical "ice queen" that some books have but still a very strong character nonetheless. Raylan was the sunshine and pretty likable. They were good separately but not together in my opinion. My thing is that I didn't get the chemistry between them at all. Sure the spice was good but that's about it. They were too opposite to me. The whole "she respects him and lets him dominate her then she falls in love with him because he's so different compared to every other man she's been with" thing didn't seem right in this. The epilogue seemed so unrealistic to me bc??? I loved reading about the characters from the other books. Despite all of my criticism it was still a decent read.

This one is on of the top of the series for me -Riona grew so much and I LOVED RAYLAN!!! He was protective and possessive in the perfect way and he complimented Riona perfectly. And that Daddy Dom energy he had made their spice my FAVORITE of any of the books!

i was inspired to read this bc i saw a tik tok abt books with "southern gentlemen" and i just had to find out if i was a true southern girly and it turns out I AM bc i loved rayland lmao. as we know, i love a badass female character and riona simply delivers. i relate sooo hard to her trying to prove that she doesn't need help from anyone, but when one man cracks her hard exterior it's just *mwah*. the plot of this was really good and intense, too and i liked that riona was actually solving the problem instead of just men doing it, like a lot of mafia books. this was a fact paced, engaging, cute little read.
