I am absolutely loving these novellas, they keep getting better and better. I loved this one because you really were able to see Sam and Celaena's relationship grow. I love them together but am curious what is going to happen because Sam is not in Throne of Glass. One of my favorite parts was when Celaena went to the theatre. The way Maas described it, I felt like I was there. I loved how Sam obtained the sheet music from the performance so that Celaena could hear and play it. I also love that Celaena had the Spidesilk incorporated into her and Sam's suits to protect their hearts. I can't believe that Arobynn tricked Celaena into killing someone that actually turned out to be good! Arobynn is still trying to make the slave trade deal behind Celaena's back and working with the King of Adarlan. This was shocking to me, I thought that Celaena was important to him. I am also really mad that he used the gold that Celaena gave him to purchase the courtesan!!!!!! I can't wait to read the last novella and then move on with the series.

This is by far my favourite novella so far.

I knew something was up with Arobynn, he wanted the slaves the first time so no way would he be helping free them this time!

I love the ending that Celaena and Sam got, they fought hard for it.

This was the most gripping of the novellas and I’m sad there’s only one more! But it’s made sure I’m even more excited to start the main series if it carries on like this!

5/5 ⭐️s because I enjoyed the book a lot despite not believing it is a five-star read.

If I was not experiencing a headache gnawing at my brain with rusty razor teeth while rudely pressing sharp fingers into the back of my eyes (because I read this book while driving in a car) I would have predicted the plot-twist from a mile away, but alas, I did not, and I was surprised-> which is always fun yay

In addition to the unsurprising yet surprising plottwist, the MC’s arrogance becomes a bit too much at points which would normally have me dock some points off of the star-score… but I have missed reading books that are part of a series where I am very familiar with the characters (All my current reads are like the first books of their series) so I can’t pretend like I haven’t missed the MC and her annoying attitude at least a little (a lot) bit.

Then there’s some more stuff I liked about the book: The kinda-slowburn romance finally.. uhh burned
