This was really terrible. I mean, the writing. But also, the relationship is not consensual. Anna gets nothing out of it except the rich handsome powerful man. Despise.

Questo "caso editoriale" non è altro che una fanfiction spacciata per una storia d'amore, iniziata come rapporto sadomasochista.
Anastasia Steele è una ragazza ingenua che si azzera per compiacere un ricco uomo d'affari, Christian Grey, che non è altro che un cavernicolo maniaco del controllo.
Lasciam perdere gli altri personaggi, che sono alquanto insignificanti.
Letto per pura curiosità ma è stato soltanto uno spreco di tempo.

Mommyporn dus. Er zit structuur in, en evolutie; op een zeker niveau zit er ergens een Bildungsroman in (_coming of age_ voor de anglofielen), maar tegelijkertijd is de premisse natuurlijk bijzonder naïef: jonge onervaren maagd valt voor iets oudere ervaren man. Was het niet voor de bdsm, dan kon de auteur geen groter (literair) cliché gebruikt hebben. (Cfr Henry James, de Brontës, Samuel Richardson, etc...) Voorlopig heb ik nog geen idee of ik het tweede boek ga lezen.

I thought Twilight was the worst book ever written, with the most unlikable "heroine", but this takes the cake. Make sense it started out as Twilight fan fiction. What's up with the appeal of borderline abusive love interests? I have no problem with BDSM, but what's portrayed in this book is NOT that.
