Joe Pickett is a force not to be messed with especially when it comes to his family AND friends. I wondered how he was going to get out of this mess and figure it out and in true Joe Pickett fashion he did both! I seriously love the way C.J. Box can write up some witty stories and tie them all up with a nice finish. 5 stars once again!

I really enjoy this entire series. CJ Box has created a fascinating hero in Joe Pickett. His loyalty, his resourcefulness, his ethics, are admirable.

This adventure once again takes us into the forest and encourages one to see the world through different eyes. To read, and yet let one's mind wander into a landscape that is majestic. All the while, a story enfolds that lets us encounter differing personalities and requires us to not see everyone for who we think they are.

While just a story, there is some material here that raises eyebrows about what is being done behind the scenes that we don't know or understand.

Strong story - great characters. Love it.

Once again, Joe Pickett finds himself in a dangerous situation, and we should all be grateful! This another great book in the Joe Pickett series by C. J. Box. This story involves some of the same old characters as well as a few new ones and revolves around the murder of two government agents, and Joe Pickett has to help find the the killer. This is a great story with a twist ending I didn’t see coming. I highly recommend this book! C. J. Box is as good as anyone out there, in my opinion.
