Perfect novella for a rainy afternoon. Loved the heroine and how well the relationship was portrayed. Also, feminist and no dead mothers.

A fun romcom with a hero who's been trying to conceal his horrible racist super-rich utterly messed up family from his girlfriend, until he finally has to bring her on a visit. The author makes the choice to play this mostly for laughs at the awful family's expense rather than as a horrific nightmare, though we remain aware of what a nightmare it could well be. This works because the heroine is confident and the hero a thoroughly decent guy who is ashamed of his family and stands up to them, plus some very satisfying come-uppances.
