This is quite a tough read. It portrays the atrocities of the event very vividly.

The book uses different writing styles, such as some chapters being in second person (although not the same consistent ‘you’ throughout), and one chapter told from the perspective of one of the dead. Although these were interesting, I personally found it quite hard to follow the plot because of it.

if i could give this book 6 stars, i would. if i had read this with nothing on my plate i would’ve been reduced to a puddle on the floor, never to be materialised again. can’t give a full review here bc it’s a lot to process, but i’ll end on saying this is one of those books i would recommend everyone learn about and read.

Probably should've taken my time reading this but couldn't help but devour it in two days. It's incredibly sad and heartbreaking, especially since it's based on real life events, but the writing is beautiful and these stories deserved to be told.
