Tess Miller aka Tess Lee is a world-famous author who is loved by all, she has a way with people that just makes them fall in love with her and her kindness.
Jack Miller is a federal agent who dotes on his wife, he loves his job but hides the true extent of what he does from his kind-natured wife.
Jack and Tess have been married for 2 years and truly love each other. Tess had a troubled childhood which gives her an inability to feel that she deserves love and is waiting for people to leave her life. The first half of this book goes into detail about Tess & Jack and their friends, you get to meet Omar who I loved as a character in this book and was glad he was written and you get to find out how well loved and known Tess is when she befriends the president and assists in political matters all with a smile on her face.
Everything in Jack & Tess’s life is going well until one day they receive a threat against Tess’s life. If she does not leave her husband, she will be murdered. She is a high-profile author, therefore her husband is doing all he can to protect his wife whilst trying to discover who would send such a threat.
Secrets come out, fears and worries come out and above all love shines through. I feel that this book is mainly about how the two main characters love each other, deeply. I find this very heart warming and nice. I struggled to connect with the character Tess, as her kindness was too much for me and I feel this is down to me having never met a person like her in real life, therefore I found it hard to relate or believe her personality as genuine, I kept waiting for her to snap and it never happened.
This is a nice short book that also has a hidden lesson about acceptance and loving yourself as much as others.

Twinkle follows characters Tess and Jack, newly married for two years. Tess is a world-famous novelist and Jack is a Federal Agent. Both have awful, painful pasts, but are slowly healing by love they have for each other. Untill an anonymous threat is made to Tess's life and everything changes. Will these love birds lean on one another? Or will darkness break them apart.

This book is so different to any book I've read. It's full of deep meaningful friendships, true love, so much kindness and light. I can see why some of my fellow lbt hosts wasn't keen on the characters, but I really got them. I think if we read Tess and Jacks first story of their past and their love story, this book may of made some more sense to ones who were unsure. But for me I understood the nature of this story. Yes the plot is a romance and also a mixture of a bit of danger with this threat on Tess, but I found it to be so much more in this story than just that. Leavy focuses on the human nature we all deeply have; doubt. In some levels every single human, experiences doubt. Doubt in relationships, doubt in work, doubt in friendships. It's the fear that you will never be enough. This is what Twinkle really focuses on. Even with both Tess and Jack's past they both choose love for themselves and for one another to drive that doubt and fear out. I understand some readers will think both characters are far to nice but I personally understood why. Instead of letting darkness rule your life, make you unkind, mean, full of fear and doubt which in turn drives you mad. These two characters and their friends chose to only see light, the good things in life, focusing on what makes them happy, focusing on the then and now and not the past. In doing so they are the most kindest people I have ever met (well read!) I feel everyone needs to be more like them. Instead of letting fear, doubt and darkness envelope us into someone we truly aren't, we need to embrace the good things, the stuff that makes us happy, focus on things that are pure. I really understood that in this book, and I honestly will definitely be practicing how Tess and Jack do things, to make my life not be so dark.

I really enjoyed this book, it's paced fluidly and straight to the point. It's funny and so joyful- even with the sad parts. It makes you feel better about the world, it makes you feel at peace. It shows you the importance and meaningfulness of friendships and relationships. How important your loved ones are. I honestly will be reading the first book of Tess and Jack to see how they met and understand there past, but also future books that will continue these characters lives.  I would of loved to of learnt a bit more about the other characters, Omar and Clay, Gina and Bobby and Joe. I'd liked to of known a bit more about them and how everyone all met and interlinked together. But definitely a really good, life lesson kind of read. A powerful book in under 200 pages!

Tess and Jack been married for two years and the book starts with them returning from a holiday in Maui, a belated honeymoon. From the first page it’s obvious that Tess and Jack are very much in love. We are introduced to a lot of Tess and Jacks friends in the first part of the book.

Tess, a successful and famous novelist has many close friends including her best friend Omar who she has known for years and the female president of the US. One really sweet aspect that I liked was Omar’s nickname for Tess which is Butterfly. When Tess and Jack attend a Ball hosed by the President we get a glimpse into what an influential person Tess is. She is able to draw in important figures with her charisma, charm and influence, which eventually leads to her becoming involved in politics. Jack also has an important job as a federal agent dealing with serious cases such as terrorism. So between them they do make quite a power couple.

When a threat is received on Tess’ life, their life is turned upside down and the story takes a sinister turn. Who is making these threats, why are they making them and what connection do they have to Tess? What follows is a race against time to answer all these questions.

This is quite a short book but there is a lot packed into it story-wise. Both characters have important roles and then life as they know it is thrown into turmoil. There are also a lot of characters that are introduced in the first half of the book. I would have been happy to learn more about them and more about Tess and Jack’s relationship. On the whole a good read.
